Sea Kayak and SUP Skills Workshop
Are you this confident about leading trips and performing rescues of capsized sea kayakers? This Master Maine Guide is but she wants you to upgrade or refresh your skills in this one day on-water workshop.
You'll bring your closed deck 15-18' solo sea kayak, paddle, rescue gear, pfd and wear a dry suit or a wetsuit for our on water time. There will be teaching opportunities to practice leading a group, charting on water courses, teaching paddling skills, launch/recovery for groups, safety on water and on land, and cooking for small groups. There will be practice using SUP's.
Each member of the workshop will be responsible for contributing their skills and knowledge during the day. We learn best by sharing. Some members will cook lunch for the group, some will be providing snacks and beverages.
If you need to rent a kayak, wetsuit, or drysuit or specialty gear, make your reservations at least 7 days in advance. Arrive at least 15 minutes early so that we can start promptly at 8:30am. Alice reserves the right to move the workshop to more protected waters in case of unsafe weather or cancel by 6:30am on the day of the event. There must be a minimum of three participants for this workshop to run.
This event is a must do for future Registered Maine Guides for sea kayaking.
