2 hour Stand Up Paddleboard Tour
With your quick dry clothing, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet but totally cover your toes, meet Master Maine Guide Alice at 9:45am to sign-in. After a short orientation to the trip and the equipment, you will be fitted with a PFD (lifejacket), we'll practice how to get on and off our boards, how to stand up on our boards after practicing hand paddling. Then we'll be on our way to exploring Mere Point Bay in larger Casco Bay. We'll be looking for wildlife such as seals, bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, three types of sea gulls while paddling.
We will choose a spot to land upon for our snack and a rest. Depending on the tide, there may tidepools to explore. Following Leave No Trace guidelines, we'll pack up our waste and work our way back to the launch point. You'll have a chance to learn about lobstering, local history, and the basics of SUP or Stand Up Paddleboarding. Bring your camera to record the fun!
Suitable for those who have never been on a SUP or Stand Up Paddleboard before and families. We paddle at the speed of our slowest board, out of the way of working lobster boats. The trip may be adjusted or cancelled due to unsafe paddling conditions. It could be moved inland to the Androscoggin River if the winds are too high on Casco Bay but safe inland.
