This event will be done using a Stand Up Paddleboard or SUP.
Future Registered Maine Guides for Recreation, Hunting, and Fishing specialties need to know how to paddle a canoe and a SUP correctly. They also need to know how to teach those skills to clients and how to rescue an unexpected swimmer or a capsized canoe.
Join a live workshop to learn and practice these skills. Participants must wear either a wetsuit or drysuit and a PFD at all times. Limited rentals of wetsuits are available. This is an outdoor workshop that is dependent on open calm water. Location will be decided the week prior to the event, but will be in the greater Brunswick, ME area. Participants will be wearing a face covering as currently required..

The tour is 3.0 hours and includes learning how to paddle, how to mount the board, how to paddle in different positions and how to get back on the board if you fall. We will be wearing face coverings as required while on land and any time we are on land (breaks). During our tour we will visit an oyster farm and learn about oyster farming. Then we will proceed to an island an taste the incredibly fresh oysters. Shucking lessons will be given.
Please bring some water and a few snacks to have while we rest near our halfway point in the tour. These must fit in a small bag.
This tour is appropriate for beginners, children at least 8, and anyone under 225 lbs. You must be able to stand easily without support on land or you will most likely be kneeling or sitting while on the tour.
