Join Master Maine Guide Alice on snowshoes (yours or hers) while exploring the winter forests and fields. Look for tracks, identify trees by winter twigs, try a sip or two of some fresh hot conifer tip tea. Family friendly adventure. The picture at left is of a woman celebrating her freedom snowhoeing.
We will be in the greater Brunswick area, but our starting point will be determined by Mother Nature. Masks and social distancing will be key to our having fun. Bring your camera and a very small backpack for your extra layers, personal snacks and water.
Perhaps you'll discover these woodchuck prints while out on our tour. If you need snowshoes, you must book them ahead of time for a $5.00 rental fee. Snowshoes are available for children through large adults. Walking on snowshoes is easy for everyone to learn. You may use poles that you provide for extra balance, but they are not necessary. Layering your clothing for wicking (NO COTTON LAYERS) for evaporation of heat from the inside out is key. Alice will have some pads to sit on when we stop.
If this time is not the best for your family or small group - book a private tour at a much more convenient time. As always, Mother Nature dictates the amount of snow and weather conditions. If you want to see tracks, being able to go out shortly after a fresh snow is most exciting. We will move at our own exploring group speed.
