Muffins on an Island 3 hour Sea Kayak Tour

Snack on Upper Goose IslandThis picture shows the view from Upper Goose Island looking towards Portland while having homemade muffins, fruit, hot tea or cold lemonade.

We meet at 8:30am to get our boats set for us, put our life jackets on, and learn about paddling and paddling safety on the coastal waters in Casco Bay. After launching, we paddle at the speed of the slowest boat as a tight group near shore for safety. We could see Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, many different types of sea gulls and maybe a harbor seal.

After stopping for our homemade snacks, learning about lobstering and some of the local flora and fauna,  and stretching, we'll pick up all that we brought and start our trip back. We'll take a different route so that we can discover more. Routes change based on tides, weather conditions, and our group.

Paddling back by Birch IslandThere will be many picture opportunities during our trip. Beginners of any age are welcome and children must be with an adult. Solo and tandem sea kayaks are used and chosen by your guide. You may request one or the other but conditions will make the final decision.

We paddle in most weather conditions but NOT when they are unsafe such as thunder and lightning storms, extreme high winds and waves. Your guide will contact you about moving the trip to a different destination or rescheduling.

Wear quick dry clothing (no cotton), closed toed water shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and bring a wind breaker or polyfleece in case it is cool. You must bring a water bottle that is at 24 - 32 ounces and you can bring favorite snacks.  Alice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupAlice SK Guiding closeupKR at Red Nun 2
